Board of Supervisors
Under the new state constitution of 1870, the legislative powers of the County Court were transferred to a Board of Supervisors. One Supervisor was elected from the magisterial districts for a term of 1 year.
Today the Carroll County Board of Supervisors consists of six members; one from each of the five magisterial districts and one at-large member. The Supervisor at Large Position was added in 1974. Members of the Board serve four year staggered terms. The staggered term was started in 2012.
